This analysis device optically scans a substrate (100) that has an analyte (620) and particles (66) labeling said analyte (620) affixed to the surface thereof, and wave pulses in a detection signal acquired by an optical scanning unit (3) as a result of said optical scanning unit (3) scanning the substrate (100) are detected. If two wave pulses each having a pulse width (Ta) less than a first threshold (T2) corresponding to a first pulse width (T1) exhibited by the detection signal when the optical scanning unit (3) scans a plurality of adjacent particles (66) are detected twice in succession, one analyte (620) is counted.
