The present disclosure relates to a reception device and a reception method with which the required power can be reduced. A digital signal processor (DSP) supplies broadcast parameter information to a power management controller (PMC). The PMC is equipped with a database holding required operating frequency information in accordance with the broadcast parameters. On the basis of the database the PMC calculates the minimum required DSP voltage and clock frequency for performing a demodulation process executed with the broadcast parameters and, in accordance with the calculation results, supplies a VDD control signal to control the regulator, and supplies a CLK control signal to control a phase locked loop (PLL).
