The purpose of this invention is to increase the degree to which heat is dissipated from an electrical component in an electrical-component socket in which a main socket body and a cover member are separate. Said cover member (12) comprises the following: a frame-shaped main cover body (41), a middle section of which is open on both the top and the bottom; a heat sink (42) provided so as to pass through the opening in the main cover body (41); a vertically-moving part (43) that supports the heat sink (42); and a pressure-applying part (46) that applies pressure to the vertically-moving part (43) so as to make the heat sink (42) move downwards and press against the electrical component (13). Since the pressure-applying part (46) is used to apply pressure to the electrical component (13) via the heat sink (42) so as to hold the electrical component (13) in place in an accommodating section (28b) of the main socket body (11), the heat sink (42) can be made to dissipate heat from the electrical component (13). Heat from the electrical component (13) can thus be dissipated well. |
