A balloon coating method which makes it possible to suitably configure the thickness and morphological form of a drug coated onto a balloon, a coat layer control method and a balloon coating device are provided. This balloon coating method is for forming a coat layer (32) that contains a water-insoluble drug on the outer surface of the balloon (30) of a balloon catheter (10). An opening (95) for discharging the coating solution is formed at the end of a tubular dispensing tube (94) that is formed from polyolefin and that supplies the coating solution containing the water-insoluble drug and a solvent. This method involves an application step in which the end of the dispensing tube (94) is brought into contact with the outer surface of the balloon (30) while said balloon (30) is rotated about the axial center of the balloon (30), the dispensing tube (94) is moved relatively to the balloon (30) in the axial direction of said balloon (30), and the coating solution is discharged from the opening (95) and applied onto the outer surface of the balloon (30).
