EQUIPMENT AND PROCESS FOR THE PICKLING AND METALLIC COATING OF A METAL STRIP

The present invention describes equipment for the pickling and metallic coating, such as galvanizing, of a continuously running metal strip, successively comprising along the run direction at least a pickling unit, a furnace and a coating unit, and for which the metal strip entering the pickling unit is by default a hot-rolled product. The equipment according to the invention is characterized in that: - a rolling mill for elongation/limited reduction of strip thickness, referred to as a skin-pass rolling mill, is positioned between the pickling unit and the furnace; - the furnace imposes a heat cycle on the strip that makes it possible to control a restoration of strip structure (that is to say free of strip recrystallization) and imposes, at the outlet of the furnace, a heating of the strip to the temperature that is required at the inlet of the metallic coating unit. A pickling and metallic coating process is also proposed.
