<p>A shifting device for a positively engaging clutch having complementary first and second positively engaging coupling elements includes a housing (1) and an actuator rod (2) which is axially movable within the housing (1) by means of an associated rod actuating mechanism (4,16), A clutch shift fork (3) for engagement with the first coupling element is mounted on the actuator rod (2) for axial movement of the first coupling element into and out of engagement with the second coupling element in response to axial movement of the actuator rod (2). The clutch shift fork (3) is mounted on the actuator rod (2) by a threaded connector (12,13) such that the clutch shift fork (3) is axially movable on the actuator rod (2). Thus conveniently the axial position of the clutch fork (3) on the shaft (2) may be altered by rotating the shaft (2) relative to the clutch fork (3) for accurate positioning of the clutch fork (3) relative to the coupling element with which it engages.</p> |
