PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery superior in safety, which can be stably charged and discharged over a long period of time even if it is a battery of a high energy density.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises: a nonaqueous electrolyte including a silicon-containing compound consisting of at least one compound selected from a group consisting of an inorganic acid, an organic acid, an acid amide and amine, and having at least one hydrogen atom substituted with a silicon-containing functional group; and a positive electrode including, as a positive electrode active material, a metal oxide expressed by LiNiMO{where M represents at least one metal atom including Mn; x is a number satisfying 0.5≤x≤2; and y is a number satisfying 1/3<y<1}. |
