By using distances between measurement sites, the distances having been calculated using site information, to classify oscillation information that has been calculated using measurement information, stability assessments may be made rapidly and highly accurately, even when a plurality of vibration modes having eigenfrequencies that are close together are present simultaneously. This device for monitoring system stability is used to monitor the system stability of a power system, and is characterized by being provided with: a measurement information collection unit for collecting measurement information from multiple sites in the power system; an oscillation analysis unit that uses the measurement information to compute oscillation information representing oscillations of the system state at the multiple sites; an information storage unit for saving site information that includes location information of the multiple sites; and an oscillation classification unit for classifying the oscillation information on the basis of the site information. |
