A compression necessity determination unit (131) determines whether or not upload data for uploading to a server needs to be compressed. A data compression unit (132) compresses the upload data using a predetermined method when it is determined by the compression necessity determination unit (131) that compression of the upload data is necessary. A data sending-out unit (133) sends out the upload data, with a header attached, to a communication interface when it is determined by the compression necessity determination unit (131) that compression of the upload data is unnecessary; the data sending-out unit (133) sends out, to the communication interface, the upload data which was compressed by the data compression unit (132) and to which is attached a header in which information indicating that the data is compressed data is stored, when it is determined by the compression necessity determination unit (131) that compression of the upload data is necessary. |
