An optical fiber connector having: a fiber securing part; a first optical fiber secured by the fiber securing part; a clamp part, capable of gripping and securing, between a base member and a pressing member capable of opening/closing with respect to the base member, an extended part (belonging to the first optical fiber and extending from the fiber securing part) together with the tip part of a second optical fiber optically connected to the extended part of the first optical fiber; and a solid refractive index matching material provided on the tip-end surface of the extended part of the first optical fiber and interposed between the first optical fiber and the second optical fiber.
