PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alloy having a low thermal expansion coefficient and a high Young's modulus.SOLUTION: A low thermal expansion alloy according to an embodiment comprises, by mass%, C: 0.2-2.0%, Si: 0.05-1.0%, Mn: 0.05-2.0%, Al: 0.01-0.14%, V: 0.8-10.0%, Ni: 30.0-40.0%, Co: 0-10.0%, and at least one of Nb and Ti: 0-4.0%, with the balance being Fe and impurities, and has a chemical composition satisfying formula (1). The low thermal expansion alloy comprises a specific carbide comprising any of V, Nb and Ti, in the amount of 2.5-12.5% by volume fraction. The formula (1) is 30.0≤Ni+Co≤40.0, wherein for an element symbol in the formula, the content of a corresponding element (mass%) is substituted.
|
