An illumination device, comprising LED luminescent components (1), light-transmitting parts (2) and a base (3), and further comprising heat sinks (4) formed of bent metal sheet; each heat sink (4) comprises a main body part (41) and a mounting part (42), one end of the main body part (41) being inserted into the base (3) and the mounting part (42) being integrally connected to the other end of the main body part (41); each LED luminescent component (1) comprises a metal sheet and an LED chip disposed on one side of the metal sheet, the other side of the metal sheet being against the mounting part (42); each light-transmitting part (2) covers a heat sink (4) and a LED luminescent component (1), and is connected to the base (3). Also provided is a method of manufacturing the illumination device. The illumination device and manufacturing method thereof have high production efficiency, low cost and good heat dissipation. |
