This invention relates to apparatuses for producing fresh water from ambient air, and more particularly to apparatuses utilizing renewable energy sources. The invention is intended primarily for producing fresh water from ambient air using cold from seawater or from the ground during the warm season. The device works as follows. A heat transfer medium in a closed circulation loop is cooled in the depths of the sea by cold from seawater and is heated in a condensation chamber by heat from humid ambient air. The production of fresh water in the device is based on the phenomenon of the condensation of moisture from ambient air on a cooled surface with a temperature below dew point. Cold from deep layers of water or the ground is used as a source of cold. Humid ambient air arriving in the condensation chamber via an air inlet is cooled to below dew point, loses excess moisture, and exits via an air discharge system. The invention can be used for extracting and reusing moisture in hotbeds and greenhouses, and also for drip irrigation or watering trees in gardens. The device remains functional as long as the temperature and humidity of the ambient air are sufficiently high for the air to cool in the condensation chamber to a temperature below dew point.
