The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a battery case for a battery cell. The battery cell includes a battery assembly comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator arranged between the positive and negative electrodes. The method includes the processes of: extruding a metal base material through a mold and executing a deep drawing operation for the base material extruded from the mold to manufacture a hollow can having an open side; and trimming the hollow can.
