The present application in particular relates to a method of conducting a drying cycle for drying wet laundry (7) in a laundry treating machine (1). It is proposed that at least one operational condition of the drying cycle is controlled in a function of latent power (LP) corresponding to the power factually needed for evaporating residual moisture from the laundry (7).
