<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cooling loss in a high compression ratio lean burn engine with the geometric compression ratioεset to 18-40. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 100 sets the air excessive ratioλto 2 or more, and G/F to 30 or more, when an operation state of an engine body (a lean burn engine 1) is in a low load region. The controller also makes cooling water flow in a cooling water passage by circulating the cooling water in a circulating circuit 400 of the cooling water when the operation state of the engine body is in a high load region, while setting the inside of the cooling water passage as an air space by removing the cooling water in the cooling water passage (water jackets 121 and 131) arranged around a partition wall of a combustion chamber 17, when the operation state of the engine body is in the low load region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
