<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an accurate black level correction value even when there is change in an amount of stray light with the lapse of time. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading method comprises a light source for irradiating a document with light and an image sensor for obtaining light reflected by the document. In the method, an image sensor is caused to obtain first output (Xn) by stray light in advance (S103), and store an amount of light of the light source at the time as a first amount of light (Y) (S106). Before start reading a document, an amount of light of the light source is obtained as second amount of light (Y') (S204), and the output of the image sensor is corrected based on a ratio (Y'/Y) of the first amount of light (Y) to the second amount of light (Y') and the first output (Xn) obtained in advance (S206). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
