PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer fuel cell power generation system in which power generation operation can be carried out stably without causing a drop in cell voltage.SOLUTION: A first sub-stack 111 and a second sub-stack 112 each consisting of stacked cells and a separator are connected so as to form a series loop of fuel gas distribution channel. A hydrogen gas cylinder 130 is connected with fuel gas reception ports of the first and second sub-stacks, respectively. Valves 101, 102 are provided between the hydrogen gas cylinder and the fuel gas reception ports of the first and second sub-stacks, and valves 103, 104 are provided in the fuel gas distribution channel between the first and second sub-stacks. In such solid polymer fuel cell power generation system 100, the gas diffusion layer of the fuel electrode of a cell satisfies the conditions of a following formula (1). W is water occupancy (%) in the cavity of the gas diffusion layer, and L is a pressure loss coefficient of the gas diffusion layer. W≤-0.3 L+50.8(1). |
