Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for providing POI information using POI grouping. The method for providing POI information using the POI grouping comprises the following steps: collecting POI objects from a predetermined POI category; generating a POI group by grouping a part of the POI objects using additional information included in each of the collected POI objects; extracting related POI objects corresponding to a target POI object, which corresponds to a request of a user by using the generated POI group; and transmitting information corresponding to the extracted related POI objects to the user. As the apparatus for providing POI information using POI grouping transmits information by extracting related POI objects according to a request of the user, the apparatus provides information about a place desired by the user from a related group, thereby being able to efficiently provide more suitable information. |
