Provided is a water softening apparatus which has an ion exchange body capable of being repeatedly regenerated with using hydrogen ions (H^+) by electrolysis. The water softening apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention may include: a reproducing unit which produces regeneration water containing hydrogen ions (H^+) by electrolysis of water; a softening unit which converts, into softened water, the raw water containing hardness components and includes an ion exchange body reproduced by receiving the regeneration water; and a control unit which controls the reproducing unit to produce regeneration water having a pH in the range of 2-4. The ion exchange body has a Si/Al ratio in the range of 1-5, and has includes an inner pore with a diameter at least 4 nm.
