<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting earthquake damage of a building capable of accurately predicting damage to be inflicted on the building on the occurrence of an assumed earthquake.SOLUTION: A method for predicting earthquake damage of a building: measures acceleration applied to buildings 1, 3 and 5 due to an earthquake when the same occurs; calculates maximum theoretical acceleration applied to the ground of the buildings 1, 3 and 5 due to the earthquake using a distance decay formula; obtains a regression formula representing a correlation between maximum building acceleration or story drift and the maximum theoretical acceleration through a regression analysis of the correlation between the story drift derived from the measured maximum building acceleration or the measured building acceleration and the calculated maximum theoretical acceleration; and predicts the maximum building acceleration applied to the buildings 1,3 and 5 or the story drift generated thereon due to an assumed earthquake by substituting the maximum theoretical acceleration of the ground of the buildings 1,3 and 5 calculated by using the distance decay formula with respect to the assumed earthquake into the regression formula.</p> |
