Method for setting up peripheral devices docking session for better user experience

A WiFi dockee 102 initiating a WiFi docking session with a WiFi docking station 104 is provided a list of peripherals that are accessible. The peripherals may be in one of several states such as available, disconnected or paired. The WiFi dockee selects a peripheral and can indicate the state in which it is required. For example a dockee can request an unpaired printer to be paired for use in a docking session. The wireless docking station may also provide an indication of user access authorization level or user authentication credentials required to access the peripherals. The peripheral selected by the dockee is accepted only if the credentials allow. Alternatively the list of accessible peripherals provided to the dockee comprises only those to which it has authenticated access.
