The disclosure relates to a method performed by a communication device 3 for uplink transmission. The method comprises: transmitting 604 a scheduling information report using the primary carrier; receiving 608 a grant to use the dedicated secondary carrier; and transmitting 610 user data using a data channel on the dedicated secondary carrier upon reception of the grant for the dedicated secondary carrier, wherein the communication device 3 is configured such that it does not transmit any data on the dedicated secondary carrier unless receiving a grant for the dedicated secondary carrier.
