A powder container 10 comprises a pressure vessel 12 for containing a quantity of powder 14 and a quantity of pressurised gas 32; an outlet through which, in use, the powder can flow out of the pressure vessel; and an outlet valve 24 for selectively opening and closing the outlet. The container further comprises a pilot line 30 communicating with the interior of the pressure vessel and the outlet downstream of the outlet valve; a pilot line valve 34 for selectively opening and closing the pilot line; and a bleed valve 38, 36 communicating with the outlet downstream of the outlet valve. The container may comprise a supplementary gas supply, preferably a pressurised gas canister 52, connected to the pilot line. The pilot line valve preferably comprises a three-way valve for selectively closing the pilot line, or for selectively connecting the supplementary gas supply to either or both of the interior of the pressure vessel and the outlet downstream of the valve. |
