The present invention relates to an apparatus for recognizing lanes, which comprises: an image obtaining unit for obtaining a road image; and a lane recognition unit for generating a first image by emphasizing a first color in the road image, generating a second image by emphasizing a second color in the road image, and recognizing lanes by composing the first and second images. Accordingly, a recognition rate of lanes of yellow and blue colors which are complementary to each other can be improved, thereby effectively recognizing the lanes even in various road environments. In addition, the accuracy of lane recognition can be increased, thereby improving the performance of a lane deviation warning system. |
