An imaging apparatus for the external surface of a host platform, with a number of single pixel detectors 10 distributed about the external surface, each receiving radiation reflected by an object or region of interest 18 and generating two-dimensional image data representative of it. An image processing module 16 multiplexes the two-dimensional image data from the single pixel detectors 10 and reconstructs a three-dimensional image of the object or region of interest 18 using a ghost imaging algorithm. The apparatus may include a radiation source such as a laser 12 and a control device to adjust its output such as a digital micro-mirror device (DMD) or spatial light modulator (SLM) 14. A target acquisition device may signal the control device to direct radiation to the object 18. A tracking device may track the target object and signal the control device to direct radiation to the object 18. The apparatus may generate an entangled photon pair as part of a quantum correlation circuit and quantum ghost imaging algorithm. The pixel detectors 10 may have wireless data transceivers to communicate relevancy parameters due to similarities between the detectors. |
