<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for detecting slag which can implement stable slag detection. <P>SOLUTION: In pouring molten steel 2 within a ladle 1 into a tundish 6 through a slide gate 3c fitted to a bottom of the ladle 1, a collector nozzle 3d, and an air-seal pipe (ASP) 4, an outflow of slag from the ladle 1 to the tundish 6 is detected. In this course of the process, a variation in pressing force P of the ASP 4 against the collector nozzle 3d is monitored, and either when the pressing force P exceeds a criterion value P<SB POS="POST">TH</SB>, or when a rate of increaseΔP of the pressing force P exceeds a criterion valueΔP<SB POS="POST">TH</SB>of the rate of increase, then it is determined that the poured flow into the tundish 6 has been changed over from molten steel 2 to slag. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
