<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly entertaining image output device that incorporates a lottery into a thumbnail display depending on the number of selected images. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 101 of an image output device 10 reads image data from a recording medium of a user, and displays thumbnail images of the read image data on a display 12. The user selects images for printing from the thumbnail images and specifies the number of prints, and a lottery is displayed in the thumbnail images depending on the number of selected prints. If the user selects the lottery, the controller 101 gives a win depending on a predetermined winning probability, and prints a ticket such as a prize exchange ticket or a coupon ticket along with other images. A printing fee may be discounted when a win is given.
