<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arrangement of a threshing apparatus that enables a waste straw conveying mechanism to approach a grain culm conveying mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A drive sprocket 60 drives a waste straw conveying mechanism 18. A driving force for driving the drive sprocket 60 is inputted to a drive input pulley 70. A second relay pulley 74 is positioned in a drive transmission path from a drive output pulley 69 to the drive input pulley 70. A second transmission belt 76 is stretched on the drive input pulley 70 and the second relay pulley 74. The drive sprocket 60 is positioned at the upstream end of a grain culm 14 in its conveyance direction along the longitudinal direction of the waste straw conveying mechanism 18. The waste straw conveying mechanism 18 is designed to receive the grain culm 14 from a grain culm conveying mechanism 11 in such a manner as to pass the grain culm under the drive sprocket 60.
