[Class 87 (i)] [See also Group XV] An ornamental flooring or other tile or slab formed of natural slate is inlaid with material comprising a pigment of a contrasting colour and a binding agent therefor. The latter may be a colourless synthetic reisn and a hard granular filler, e.g. sand, carborundum, ground flint, marble dust or mixtures thereof, may be added. The grooves or recesses for the inlay may be formed by sawing or sand blast, and may be undercut.
