<p>The laser (1) has a laser resonator (6) in which a laser medium (7) e.g. yttrium aluminium garnet crystal, pumped by a pump source (3) and a Q-switch (8) are arranged. A detector (11) e.g. photodiode, detects fluorescent light (10) emitted by the pumped laser medium. A regulation unit (14) adjusts pulse energy of a laser pulse (2) based on intensity of the detected fluorescent light. The regulation unit has an optical actuator (15) e.g. electro optical modulator, provided in a beam path of the laser pulse, where the actuator influences pulse energy of the laser pulse. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling pulse energy of a laser pulse of a Q-switched solid-state laser.</p> |
