Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for processing a function according to the movement state of an electronic device. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method includes the following processes: receiving information regarding the movement of the electronic device or an external device of the electronic device; and using at least one process to control the functions of the electronic device or an input or output device of the external device, applications to be executed by the electronic device or the external device, or at least a part of the functions thereof differently based on the information, regarding a message received from the electronic device.
