摘要 A method of routing backhaul link communications in a wireless communication network including communicatively coupling an apparatus to each of a plurality of peers in the wireless communication network with each of a respective backhaul link of a plurality of backhaul links. The method includes collecting metrics associated with each backhaul link of the plurality of backhaul links and calculating backhaul link parameters based upon the collected metrics. The method includes determining a link quality for each of the plurality of backhaul links based upon the calculated backhaul link parameters, and determining a best backhaul link available based on the determined link qualities, and routing communications between the apparatus and one of the peers of the wireless communication system via the determined best backhaul link available. The collected metrics include metrics besides a transmission success rate of Hello packets.

An apparatus for routing backhaul link communications in a wireless communication network, the apparatus comprising: a processor coupled to a memory that stores executable instructions, wherein the processor facilitates execution of the executable instructions to perform operations; a plurality of backhaul links each link communicatively coupling the apparatus to one of a plurality of peers in the wireless communication network; a backhaul link metric collection module coupled to the processor to perform operations including collecting metrics associated with each backhaul link of the plurality of backhaul links, wherein the metrics include a transmission success rate and a delay value; a backhaul link parameter calculation module coupled to the processor to perform operations including calculating one or more calculated backhaul link parameters based upon the collected metrics, the one or more calculated backhaul link parameters including a parameter besides a transmission success rate of Hello packets; a best backhaul link quality determination module coupled to the processor to perform operations including determining a link quality for each of the plurality of backhaul links based upon the calculated backhaul link parameters; a best backhaul available link quality determination module coupled to the processor to perform operations including determining a best backhaul link available based on the determined link qualities; and a communications routing module coupled to the processor to perform operations including routing communications between the apparatus and one of the peers of the wireless communication system via the determined best backhaul link available; wherein the apparatus is a core server in an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) System (EPS) and the peer is a core server in an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) System (EPS); wherein the plurality of backhaul links includes a backhaul link from the EPS core server apparatus to the EPS core server peer.
