According to an embodiment of the present invention, a display device includes: a display; one or more speakers; a signal processing unit which processes an image signal to display an image on the display and output a sound from the speakers; a communication interface communicating with at least one external display device; and a control unit which transmits the sound processed by the signal processing unit to the speakers according to preset output configuration conditions to enable the speakers to output the sound, determines the image division and display status of the display device and the external display devices, and adjusts the sound output configuration conditions of the speakers according to the determination result.
