Double-sided tape dispenser

A tape dispenser, joining and dispensing a double-sided tape from two rolls of single-sided tape, includes a base having upper and lower sides, first and second spaced apart guide elements mounted to the upper side at first and second positions. First and second tape dispensing wheels, having rolls of single-sided tape mounted thereto, are mounted to the rearward portion of the upper side of the base. A handle extends from the lower side. A tape application roller is mounted to the forward portion of the base and extends above the upper side. A tape cutoff blade, or first and second cutoff blades, can be mounted to the base and extend above the upper side. An extension handle extending transversely to the handle, which can be at least 2 feet long or at least 4 feet long, can be removably mountable to the base plate.

1. A tape dispenser for joining and dispensing a double-sided tape from two rolls of single-sided tape comprising:
a base having upper and lower sides, a forward portion, a rearward portion and a centerline extending between the forward and rearward portions; a first guide element mounted to the upper side at a first position; a second guide element mounted to the upper side at a second position; the centerline passing through the first and second positions; the first and second guide elements spaced apart by a gap; a first tape dispensing wheel mounted to the upper side at a third position for rotation about a third axis; a second tape dispensing wheel mounted to the upper side at a fourth position for rotation about a fourth axis, the third and fourth positions being towards the rearward portion of the base and positioned on opposite sides of the centerline; the first and second tape dispensing wheels each configured for receipt of a roll of single-sided tape; an adjustable height spacer positioned between the base plate and a chosen one of the first and second tape dispensing wheels; a handle mounted to and extending generally perpendicularly away from the lower side at a fifth position; a tape application roller mounted to the forward portion of the base at a sixth position to extend above the upper side; and a tape cutoff blade mounted to the base at a seventh position and extending above the upper side, the seventh position being perpendicular to a location along the centerline, said location being between the first position and the sixth position so that the tape application roller is forward of the cutoff blade.
