PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anion exchange resin excellent in durability and allowing for production of an electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell, a binder for forming an electrode catalyst layer and a battery electrode catalyst layer, to provided an electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell, a binder for forming an electrode catalyst layer and a battery electrode catalyst layer, each of which is formed from the anion exchange resin, and to provide a fuel cell which includes the electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell or the battery electrode catalyst layer.SOLUTION: The anion exchange resin is configured in such a way that a hydrophobic unit and a hydrophilic unit are bonded with each other via a carbon-carbon bond. The hydrophobic unit is configured in such a way that divalent hydrophobic groups, each of which is composed of a single aromatic ring or a plurality of aromatic rings bonded with each other via a divalent hydrocarbon group, a carbon-carbon bond or the like, are bonded with each other via an ether bond. The hydrophilic unit is configured in such a way that divalent hydrophilic groups, each of which is composed of a single aromatic ring or a plurality of aromatic rings bonded with each other via a divalent hydrocarbon group or a carbon-carbon bond, at least one of the aromatic rings having an anion exchange group, are bonded with each other via a carbon-carbon bond. |
