<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic input device capable of accurately detecting the action of a user and further capable of determining with high accuracy the position or action of a hand even when the user acts in a hover state.SOLUTION: There is provided an electrostatic input device for detecting the action of a user, the electrostatic input device having: a sensing unit for outputting a plurality of response signals based on the action of a user sensed by an electrode matrix comprising a plurality of electrodes successively for each channel corresponding to the positions of detection electrodes; an electrostatic capacitance calculation unit for outputting the electrostatic capacitance data calculated on the basis of the response signals successively for each channel; a differential processing unit for differentiating by time the electrostatic capacitance data outputted from the electrostatic capacitance calculation unit, and creating time differential data per channel; a determination data generation unit for calculating the sum total of the time differential data; and a determination unit for determining the presence of a hover operation by the user on the basis of the sum total of the time differential data calculated by the determination data generation unit.</p> |
