PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner, capable of more efficiently separating toner base particles from a toner containing slurry.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a toner includes the step of separating toner base particles from a toner containing slurry using a disc type centrifugal separator 10. The disc type centrifugal separator 10 includes a body part 14 and a rotary shaft 12 attached below the body part 14. The toner base particles are centrifuged from the toner containing slurry by rotating the body part 14. The toner containing slurry is supplied into the body part 14 from below through a passage 20 formed inside the rotary shaft 12.
