PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an image defect based on a development defect.SOLUTION: An image processing device (COM) includes: means (C103) for acquiring image information including density information for each pixel; means (C108) for detecting a pixel of a boundary in a sub scanning direction changing from a preset low-density pixel to a high-density pixel; means (C111) for discriminating whether the development defect occurs regarding a downstream side defining a pixel (a1) of the boundary in the sub scanning direction as a criterion; correction means (C124) for correcting the pixel of the boundary in the sub scanning direction for which it is discriminated that the development defect occurs, with a correction amount (V1i) to increase the density for an upstream-side pixel and with a correction amount (V1i) to decrease the density for a downstream-side pixel; and means (C129) for transmitting corrected image information to an image forming apparatus.
