PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery that can prevent infiltration of foreign materials and water components into the gap between a connection plate and a membrane from the outside.SOLUTION: A secondary battery has a case, a cap plate, a first electrode terminal and a second electrode terminal which are mounted to penetrate through the cap plate and electrically connected to an electrode assembly, and an external short-circuit part for electrically separating or short-circuiting the first electrode terminal and the second electrode terminal at the outside of the electrode assembly. The external short-circuit part has a membrane for hermetically closing a short-circuit hole formed in the cap plate, a connection plate which is electrically connected to the first electrode terminal and disposed to be isolated at one side of the membrane. An insulator having a discharge port which intercommunicates with the through hole of the connection plate and discharges internal pressure when the membrane is reversed, and a cap for discharging the internal pressure and blocking flow-in of foreign materials into the discharge port. |
