The present invention relates to a bidirectional active balancing control method and a device thereof for multiple energy storage device cells. In a method to control the balancing of an energy storage device, including multiple primary coils formed in a transformer with a single metal pin and wound with the same polarity, multiple main switches, and multiple sub switches, a PWM signal is applied to the main switches to make the main switches connected, magnetic energy is stored in an inductor connected to the sub switches when the sub switches, connected to a low voltage battery, are turned on (connected), and an incompletely charged battery cell is charged while the magnetic energy is being discharged during a predetermined period when the sub switches are turned off (closed). Moreover, the bidirectional active balancing control device includes multiple inductors having an end connected to a common connection point of a plurality of main switches and primary coils; multiple sub switches connected to the other end of the primary coils and connected to the other end of the inductors in series; and multiple diodes connected between the common connection point of the inductors and the sub switches and the other end of the main switches. |
