<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a wear of a needle tip end portion, concerning a cylinder deactivation mechanism of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A cylinder deactivation mechanism of an internal combustion engine includes: a rocker shaft bracket 20 vertically moved by the rocking of a rocker arm 12; a lash adjuster 30 provided with a hydraulic chamber 32 in a cylinder 31; a piston 25 fixed to a lower part of the rocker shaft bracket 20 at an upper end portion, and slidably inserted in the cylinder 31 at a lower end portion; a check valve 38 which has a check ball 38B for opening the hydraulic chamber 32; an electromagnetic solenoid 40 which has an electromagnetic coil 48 and a plunger 44 actuated by the electromagnetic coil 48; a needle 50 provided on the plunger 44, capable of opening the hydraulic chamber 32 by pushing down the check ball 38B at a tip end portion, and made from high hardness material; and a needle guide 60 provided in a cylinder of the piston 25 to guide the needle 50, and made from a non-magnetic body.</p> |
