MONITORING SYSTEM AND MONITORING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of precisely determining the number of passengers getting-off railway vehicles by associating images taken by cameras disposed on a platform and a result of the counted number of passengers getting off the railway vehicles.SOLUTION: The monitoring system includes: a passenger counter unit which is disposed in each of railway vehicles for counting the number of passengers getting-off the railway vehicles; plural first cameras disposed in each of stations where the railway vehicles stop, each of which takes images of the passengers getting-off the railway vehicle arriving the stop-station or a platform of the stop-station; and a server that stores information of the number of get-off passengers counted by the passenger counter units and the image data of the get-off passengers taken by the first cameras.
