<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a sealed battery having a battery case arranged by welding an outer can and a lid plate to each other, which enables the achievement of both of the decrease in battery size by reducing the thickness of a battery case, and the prevention of the decrease in the strength of the welding between the outer can and the lid plate.SOLUTION: A sealed battery (1) comprises a battery case (10) in which an electrode body (30) and an electrolytic solution are sealed. The battery case (10) includes a box-like outer can (11) having an opening (10a), and a lid plate (12) covering the opening (10a) and in this condition, welded to a peripheral part (11f) of the opening (10a). The lid plate (12) has an outer peripheral part (12a) where the lid plate is welded to the peripheral part (11f); the outer peripheral part (12a) is larger than a part of the lid plate covering the electrode body (30) in thickness.</p> |
