PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform position detection accurately using an encoder.SOLUTION: An encoder comprises a magnet body of M poles (M is an even number), and a biaxial magnetic sensor circuit having two magnetic sensitive axial directions. Individual small magnets constituting the magnet body are magnetized in a direction crossing a magnetic sensitive surface of the biaxial magnetic sensor circuit.
