PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a present position of a moving body by processing with a low load, on the basis of a photographic image of a camera mounted on the moving body.SOLUTION: A position determining device detects objects on a road with the movement of a moving body, and calculates an interval between the detected objects. With the movement of the moving body, a plurality of objects is detected, and intervals of those are calculated. On the other hand, intervals on a map are stored in a memory portion. The position determining device determines a position of the moving body, on the basis of the intervals of the objects calculated with the movement of the moving body, and the intervals of the objects stored in the memory portion.
