PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce surface roughness of a heat insulating layer disposed in an engine combustion chamber and including hollow particles.SOLUTION: A base material 10, hollow particles 21 having an average particle diameter of 35 μm or less, a binder material 22 for binding the hollow particles 21 and binding the hollow particles 21 and the base material 10, and a solvent are prepared. A mixture liquid is prepared by mixing the hollow particles 21, the binder material 22 and the solvent so that a blending ratio of the hollow particles 21 to the total amount of the hollow particles 21 and the binder material 22 is 40 vol% or more, and a viscosity of 0.05 Pa s or less measured by a B-type viscometer at a room temperature, is achieved. The prepared mixture liquid is applied to the base material 10, and dried and burned by implementing heat treatment to the mixture liquid. |
