The present invention relates to a method and a system to supply motor driven power steering (MDPS) operation power using a selector, supplying a 12 V power through a selector to allow stable operation when a converter charging an auxiliary battery with power has an error or a fault to stop supplying a 24 V power in the MDPS system operated with a 24 V direct current (DC). The system to supply MDPS operation power comprises: a main battery charged with power to supply the 12 V power; an alternator charging a main battery with power; the auxiliary battery connected to the main battery in series, and charged with power to supply 12 V power; an MDPS unit provided with power from the main battery and the auxiliary battery to perform an MDPS operation; the selector performing a switching connection between the main battery and the auxiliary battery under a control of the converter to supply 12 V power or 24 V power to the MDPS unit; and the converter charging the auxiliary battery with power, checking a state of the auxiliary battery when the auxiliary battery is in a normal state, controlling the switching of the selector to supply 24 V power to the MDPS unit, and controlling the switching of the selector to supply 12 V power to the MDPS unit when the auxiliary battery is in an abnormal state.
