<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photographic image of a resolution required for car number recognition and to reduce the risk of photographing failure while photographing a number plate of a vehicle by one camera.SOLUTION: An area sensor 3 includes: a range finding part 3a for measuring a distance to an object; a detection area setting part 3b for setting detection area groups of three stages from an entrance to the inside of a site; a vehicle detection part 3c for detecting a position of an automobile on the basis of range finding data and the detection area group; and a photographing control part 3d for controlling operations of a camera 4 in accordance with the detected position of the automobile. When it is detected by the vehicle detection part 3c that the automobile enters the site, the photographing control part 3d starts a positioning operation of the camera 4 and successively changes a photographing position of the camera 4 so as to follow a change in the detected position of the automobile from a time point before photographing the automobile. When the automobile is detected in the detection area group of the final stage, the detected position is determined as a final photographing position and a still picture is photographed by the camera 4.</p> |
