PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire 2 which is excellent in wet grip performance and quietness. ! SOLUTION: The tire 2 comprises a tread 4 whose outer face forms a tread face 26, and a removable annular rubber ring 16. A main groove 28a extending in a circumferential direction is engraved at the tread face 26. The rubber ring 16 is fixed to the main groove 28a in a stretched state. In a radial direction, an outer face 42 of the rubber ring 16 is located outside the tread face 26. Preferably, a ratio of an inside diameter of the rubber ring 16 before being attached to the main groove 28a with respect to a bottom diameter of the main groove 28a is not smaller than 0.90 and not larger than 0.95. Preferably, a depth from the tread face 26 up to the rubber ring 16 is not shallower than 3.0 mm, and a ratio of the depth from the tread face 26 up to the rubber ring 16 with respect to a depth of the main groove 28a is not larger than 0.7. !
